PACKAGING OF MAKENGINEERING KITS
"Make it as easy as possible for families to check out and return [the kits]. I suggest not using compartments because families do not want to take time to put everything back in it’s place." (Suzanne, Public Librarian)
PACKAGING CONTAINER OPTIONS
Here we provide at least three low-cost options we have used to package the kits. These will fit into youths' backpack and fairly durable.
KIT INSTRUCTIONS
Each MAKEngineering Kit included flipbook instructions and a link to online instructions. The flipbook instructions were printed on cardstock and laminated for sustainability. Next, we punched a small hole in the top-left corner and secured using book rings. You can purchase these book rings at Office Depot or Staples. Using book rings will allow you to interchange individual flipbook cards. We include our flipbook instructions for others to use and/or adapt.
LABELING MAKENGINEERING KITS
How will youth be able to identify the type of kit?
How will youth and families, as well as yourself, be able to know the contents of the kit?
See images below. We secured these labels to the kits using clear packing tape.
